My name is Betsy Albert. I am excited to be back in 1st grade! I have been in education for twenty years. I received my B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and my Master's in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada. This is my fourteenth year at Little Flower School. I have taught kindergarten, first, third, and fifth grades. After a brief survey of intermediate grades, I have come to realize that I enjoy working with 1st graders the most. In addition to teaching 1st grade, I will be teaching general music to grades K - 5. I live in Reno with my family and future dog, Georgie.
Miss Acosta is our first grade aide. Born and raised in Reno, she attended Our Lady of the Snows and Bishop Manogue. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and her Master's degree in Neuroeducation at the University of Portland. She taught prekindergarten at a parochial school in Oregon and first grade at Little Flower. This year she will be teaching the first graders Science, Social Studies, and Religion. Brittany is happy to be back in her hometown and is eager to give back to the community she grew up in!
If you have any questions or concerns about 1st grade, please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. We are looking forward to a fun-filled year!

LFS's annual reading incentive program began on November 1, 2018. Our theme this year is "The Avengers: Reading Saves the World."
Thank you to everyone for your support of our Christmas Show. The children were amazing! This is the first year since I started at LFS 14 years ago that every student has participated.
Christmas Break begins at 12:30pm on Friday, December 21, 2018. The after school program will not be available. School will resume on Monday, January 7, 2019. We would like to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Now that the weather has turned colder, please make sure your student has a coat to wear every day. We do go out for recess at 10:30am, 12:25pm, and 2:00pm (most days). Also, please make sure your child's belongings are labeled with his/her name.
Mass is every Thursday at 10:00am. Families are welcome to join us. Please get a nametag in the school office at 9:45am.
Our School Day
School begins at 8:20am and ends at 3:15pm, Monday through Friday. Students will be marked tardy at 8:30am. At pick up, be prepared to show identification before signing your children out. Students who are not picked up by 3:30pm will be walked to the after school program.
FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS, 1ST GRADE IS A NUT-FREE CLASSROOM.
